Google Rolls Out June Pixel Drop Update With AI Video Tools, Android 17, and Several Smart Features

Google has started rolling out its latest June Pixel Drop update for Pixel devices, bringing a range of new features and improvements. The update introduces AI-powered video creation tools, enhanced multitasking capabilities, smarter communication features, expanded language support, and upgraded safety functions. It is being released alongside Android 17 and Wear OS 7, and will reach eligible Pixel smartphones and wearables in the coming weeks.

Screen Reactions Makes Video Content Creation Easier

One of the biggest highlights of the update is the new Screen Reactions feature, which has been designed specifically for content creators. It allows users to add a live selfie video directly into screen recordings, making it easier to create reaction videos, gaming clips, and tutorials. The selfie window can be freely moved and resized during recording for greater flexibility.

Gemini AI Expands Video and Music Creation Capabilities

Google is also strengthening its AI ecosystem with the introduction of Gemini Omni 2. The feature enables users to create and edit videos using simple text prompts. Users can remix photos and videos from their gallery and even generate personalized AI avatars based on their appearance.

In addition, Gemini 3 brings AI-powered music generation. Users can create complete songs by describing an idea, theme, or uploading an image. The generated content can include lyrics, vocals, and various customizable music styles.

Bubbles Delivers a Better Multitasking Experience

Google has introduced a new multitasking feature called Bubbles, which allows any app to run inside a floating window while users continue working in other applications.

On foldable devices such as the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, these floating apps can be stored in a dedicated Bubble Bar, making it easier to switch between tasks quickly and efficiently.

Existing Features Expand to More Devices

The company is also bringing several previously limited features to additional Pixel devices.

Voice Translate is now available on the Pixel 10a. The feature provides real-time speech translation during phone calls and currently supports English paired with German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Hindi.

Meanwhile, Quick Share has gained improved compatibility with Apple’s AirDrop, making cross-platform file sharing easier for Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a users.

Communication Features Get Smarter

Google is expanding its AI-powered communication tools as well.

Magic Cue will now work with Snapchat conversations, providing contextual suggestions and useful actions based on the content of chats.

Additionally, Take a Message, which offers real-time voicemail transcription and AI-generated response suggestions, is expanding to more countries. Users will also be able to create and save personalized voicemail greetings.

Manual Call Screen Arrives for Indian Users

Google has introduced Manual Call Screen for Pixel users in India. The feature allows Google Assistant to screen calls from unknown numbers, ask callers to identify themselves, and provide that information before the user decides whether to answer the call.

Enhanced Safety and Emergency Features

Google has further upgraded Pixel’s safety system. Devices can now automatically alert selected emergency contacts when serious incidents such as car crashes, hard falls, or loss of pulse are detected.

The feature works alongside existing emergency detection tools and can be customized according to user preferences.

Edit with Ask Photos Expands to More Regions

The Edit with Ask Photos feature, powered by Gemini AI, is being expanded to additional European markets. The tool allows users to perform advanced photo edits using natural language commands.

Tasks such as removing reflections, improving colors, and enhancing image quality can now be completed simply by describing the desired changes.
