OpenAI has started offering free access to its ChatGPT Go service in India for one year. The offer began on Tuesday and is available for a short time. Anyone in India who signs up during this period can use ChatGPT Go free for 12 months.
Users can now claim this offer through the ChatGPT website or the Google Play Store. Starting next week, it will also be available on the Apple App Store.
ChatGPT Go is a special paid version of ChatGPT launched recently by OpenAI. It gives users higher message limits, the ability to create images, and the option to upload files. India is one of the biggest and fastest-growing markets for ChatGPT, making this offer especially important for the company.
The free one-year offer was announced alongside OpenAI’s first DevDay Exchange event held in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Nick Turley, Vice President and Head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, said,
“Since we launched ChatGPT Go in India, we’ve seen amazing creativity and strong interest from users. To celebrate our first DevDay Exchange event here, we’re offering free one-year access to help more people across India experience advanced AI tools.”
People who are already subscribed to ChatGPT Go in India will also get an extra 12 months of free access added to their accounts.
OpenAI shared that this offer shows its strong ‘India-first’ approach and supports the IndiaAI Mission. The company believes this move will help more Indians explore artificial intelligence as the country prepares to host the AI Impact Summit next year.
In short, ChatGPT Go’s free one-year access gives Indian users a chance to enjoy premium AI features at no cost, strengthening India’s growing connection with AI technology.
