Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8’s First Official Teaser Reveals a Wider New Design

Samsung has officially launched its teaser campaign for the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is widely expected to be unveiled later this month. Instead of releasing a traditional launch teaser, the company has taken a different approach by clearing almost all of its previous Instagram posts and replacing them with a mysterious campaign built around the tagline “New Shape, New Joy.”

The teaser suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could introduce one of the biggest design changes in the Fold series to date. According to recent reports, the upcoming foldable smartphone is expected to feature a wider and slightly shorter form factor than previous Galaxy Z Fold models, offering a more comfortable grip and an improved everyday user experience.

In the teaser videos, Samsung first shows the tall profile associated with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 gradually becoming more compact before revealing a broader silhouette. This new shape is widely believed to represent the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The visuals indicate that Samsung is focusing on delivering a more balanced and practical design for better usability.

The teaser campaign also includes several cryptic taglines, including “A sweet new shape,” “Cuts to what matters,” and “Feels just right.” Other posts feature phrases such as “A whole new slice” and “A sweet reveal,” further hinting at the redesigned foldable.

The strongest clue comes from a teaser titled “Bold Stroke. New Shape.” The short video showcases purple, pink, and gold colour accents that closely match those seen in recent leaks. It ends with a wallpaper displaying the number 8, leaving little doubt that the campaign is centered around the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Samsung’s official teaser arrives shortly after multiple leaks surfaced online, revealing both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and a rumoured Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Reports suggest that the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 will adopt the new wider design, while the Ultra variant may continue using Samsung’s existing taller foldable form factor.

Galaxy Fold users have long requested a larger and wider cover display. If the recent leaks are accurate, the updated design could significantly improve daily usability by making typing, web browsing, messaging, and app navigation much easier without unfolding the device.

Although Samsung has not officially confirmed the launch date, multiple reports suggest the company could unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 during its next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is expected to take place on July 22.

Samsung has also remained silent on pricing and hardware specifications. However, with the teaser campaign now underway, the company is expected to reveal more official details, features, and previews of its next-generation foldable smartphone lineup in the coming days.
