Jack Reacher Season 3 Release

With Reacher Season 2 coming to an end on Amazon Prime Video, the cast and crew are getting ready for Season 3 to premiere soon.

Reacher is still one of the best shows on Netflix, with an amazing 94% Tomatometer score for its first two seasons on Rotten Tomatoes as the season 2 finale draws near.

The series brings author Lee Child’s Jack Reacher stories to life, starring Alan Ritchson, well known for his performance in Fast X, as Major Jack Reacher. Prior to Ritchson taking on the job in 2022, there were two Jack Reacher films featuring Tom Cruise.

When Is Reacher Season 3 Releasing?

The official confirmation is in: Reacher is set to make its return on Amazon Prime Video for Season 3.

The show’s star, Alan Ritchson, appeared on camera during Prime Video’s panel at the CCXP event in Brazil prior to its December 15 premiere. He declared in the video that Season 3 production would begin on the same day as a longer sneak peek at Season 2.

After the video was released to the public on December 2, Ritchson shared a picture of himself on Instagram on December 6 showing that he was hiding his tattoos in order to be ready to film the next season of Reacher.

Regarding the Jack Reacher book that Season 3 would adapt, Ritchson could only say that it’s one of his “favorite books” of the series when asked by CinemaBlend. He continued by saying that when it was revealed, it will “bring joy to people.

“Have we announced the book for Season 3 yet? What level of knowledge do you possess? If only I could give it out! It’s on every top 10 list, and it’s one of my favorite books. People are going to be quite happy after reading this book.”

Looking at the show’s production schedule, Season 1 was filmed from April to July 2021 and was released in its entirety on Amazon Prime Video on February 4, 2022.

Jack Reacher Season 3 Release

This works out to almost three and a half months of filming, with about ten months passing between the start of production and the premiere of the show.

The second season of the show was filmed from fall 2022 to late February 2023, with a return date of December 15, 2023. This gave the series a production window of more than a year, from the start of filming until the premiere.

During an interview with Retro Cool Nerd in December 2023, Ritchson hinted that a significant amount of Season 3 has already been shot. He made a hint that the next season would be “the best” the show has ever had.

With that in mind, Season 3 filming is anticipated to wrap up in February or March. In late 2024, if there are no unforeseen circumstances, the upcoming season may debut on Amazon Prime Video.

Cast of Reacher Season 3: Who Is It?

Just two actors starred in every episode of Reacher’s first two seasons: Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher and Maria Sten as Frances Neagley.

The one exception to this rule was Oscar Finlay, played by Malcolm Goodwin, who reappeared out of the blue in Season 2, Episode 4. In contrast, he has only been referenced in passing in later episodes.

For Reacher Season 3, Ritchson is currently the only actor formally confirmed to be returning. His numerous posts of images and videos from the Season 3 set demonstrate his ongoing leadership in the show.

With half of Season 1’s eight episodes and all of Season 2’s, Sten may reprise her role as Neagley, but as of yet, no information has been released to confirm her participation in Season 3.

It will depend on whatever Lee Child book is adapted into the next eight episodes to determine the rest of the Season 3 cast. In the literature as well as the television series, Reacher is known for seldom staying in one place for a long time.

What Can We Expect from Season 3 of Reacher?

Because of the large amount of Lee Child’s source material, it is currently difficult to anticipate with precision what will happen in Reacher Season 3.

Child’s Jack Reacher series began in 1997 and has already grown to a staggering 28 books. “The Secret,” the most recent book in the series, will be released in October 2023. Child is also hard at work on a new novel called “In Too Deep,” which will be the 29th installment in the series and published in October 2024.

The first season of Reacher followed a conventional path, adapting Child’s first Jack Reacher novel, “Killing Floor.” The book’s preface and Ritchson’s portrayal of the hero were very similar.

On the other hand, Season 2 changed course by focusing on Child’s books and reusing the plot from his eleventh novel, “Bad Luck and Trouble,” which was published in 2007. This creates a great deal of space for conjecture about the possible course of Season 3.

Though Seasons 1 and 2 remained largely true to the original material, with Season 2 jumping ahead by ten volumes, Season 3’s plot might be influenced by any of Child’s 26 remaining Reacher novels. The only one that could be disqualified is “The Secret,” since it’s anticipated to be released far after Season 3 filming is over.

Episode 8 of Reacher Season 2 will debut on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, January 18, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, marking the finale of the series.
